Do I need to have experience of working with ceramics?
No you do not need any experience of working with ceramics. You do however have to be interested in developing yourself through the medium of a creative process. However if you do have experience either through schooling or adult education in ceramics production it will mean that techniques and abilities you already have may be further developed and enhanced.
Does Credo pay me?
Credo is a small UK Charity. All proceeds made through the sale and exhibition of our ceramics are re-invested on materials and equipment for future use. We do not pay our members a salary.
There may be however an occasion when you are representing Credo when it is appropriate for us to reimburse your out of pocket expenses such as travel and refreshments.
May I buy the ceramics that I produce?
All items made at the Credo studio are for sale and proceeds made from there sale are used to help fund the project. However should you wish to purchase a particular item that you or another member has made you may do so. We offer a 20% discount on sales to Credo members.
What happens if I'm unwell and cannot attend?
We accept that the road to recovery has ups as well as downs. We acknowledge that sometimes members may have a period when it is difficult for them to attend on their allotted Credo days. What we do ask is that you do your best to let us know if you are unwell.
If you are unable to let us know in person then please let your nominated health professional know so they may keep us informed of your well being. We will keep your position at Credo open if we are kept in the loop.
Why do members join Credo and what's in it for me?
Credo runs as a community work project, where everyone's contribution is supported and valued.
Credo means 'I believe' and this philosophy is at the core of our project. Credo aims to enable individuals to regain belief in their talents and abilities and prove that there is potential beyond ill health and hope for the future.
Our members past and present have chosen to say that Credo has given them - confidence, purpose, opportunity and self-belief. We have our measure of success stories with individuals who have moved on from the Credo project returning to full and part-time employment, voluntary work and re-training.
