Working since 1999 in the heart of our community
Here' the story so far!
1998/9
- Credo started informally with patients at the Portnalls Unit, Farnborough Hospital site.
1999/2000
- Ceramic wall mural commissioned for the new Green Parks House.
2000
- Partnership established with Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust.
- Credo moved to Anchor House, Orpington and Partnership with Bromley MIND established
- Credo became a Registered Charity.
2003
- Credo received its first major funding from The Big Lottery.
- Funding for a Development Worker.
2004
- Outreach project at Stepping Stones funded by the Bromley Community Fund.
- Outreach sessions at Cotmandene Centre, St Paul's Cray.
- Outreach at Christchuch, Anerely.
2005
- First major outreach project in the community funded - through the European Social Fund (ESF). "The Big African Pot Project" . It was two 6-week projects run at The United Reform Church, Bromley and Yeoman House, Penge.
2006
- Credo received its second European Social Fund grant to run "The Big Green Pot Project" in the community at Bromley and Penge.
- Credo was hailed as a provider of "Best Practice" during a Presentation at the ESF Conference in May.
- Credo participated in the Greater London Enterprise Conference for MEPs and local government officials in Brussels in June.
- The Big Lottery's Community Fund provided a 3-year grant to fund a Project Outreach Worker to run outreach projects in the community and a regular day at Yeoman House, Penge, on Fridays.
2007
- The City Bridge Trust provided 3-year funding for the post of Project Officer.
2007/2008
- The European Social Fund awarded a grant for Credo to run "The Skylight Project": 2 x 12 week courses in partnership with The Bromley Community Drugs Project. They designed and made two large ceramic wall murals for their new building.
2008
- The Community Mental Health Team in Orpington commissioned a ceramic mural "Earth, Air and Water" for their Carlton Parade building.
- The Big Lottery Fund's "Awards for All" initiative provided funding for 2 outreach projects in the community for carers: "A Movable Feast" (Parts I and II) being held at the Ripley Arts Centre, Bromley.
- Credo "Highly Commended" for its "Skylight Project" by theLondon Voluntary Sector Council.
2009
- "A Movable Feast II" - our second outreach project for carers.
- "The Hanging Gardens" outreach project held at Bromley Mind's Stepping Stones facility in Bromley
- "Objects of Desire": an outreach project with lone parents at the Mottingham Community & Learning Shop (funded by The Big Lottery Fund).
- As a result of Credo's very successful outreach for carers, Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust funded Credo to run:
- "Patio Dining": an outreach project for carers based at the Art for All studio in Central Bromley.
2010
- Credo has been most fortunate to receive 3-year funding from The Big Lottery Fund "Reaching Communities"Programme.
- This exciting new development means that we can establish The Credo Creative Arts Centre - developing the skills and talents of our volunteers, offering more outreach in the community, establishing outreach projects beyond Bromley and introducing Credo membersto other arts, as well as maintaining our ceramics' base.
